IN-HOME 1:1 SESSIONS · NEWPORT BEACH & COSTA MESA
One-on-one occupational therapy in your own home means your therapist works with your child in the environment where the skills actually need to show up - the kitchen table, the stairs, the bathroom sink - instead of a clinic room. Here's the cost, how soon we can start, and what a session looks like.
50-minute 1:1 session, in your home
Sooner if you're flexible on time of day
Set after your child's first session

A 50-minute 1:1 in-home session runs $130–$185, depending on your child's goals and whether the session involves feeding, self-care, or sensory-focused work that needs extra prep or equipment brought to your home. Most homes within Newport Beach and Costa Mesa proper have no added travel fee — homes further out (Newport Coast, north Costa Mesa near the 55) may have a small travel add-on, which we'll always tell you upfront before booking.
We're private pay, which means no waiting on insurance authorization to get started or to change your child's plan as they progress. If you want to use insurance, we provide a superbill you can submit for out-of-network reimbursement — ask us for one after your first session.
Most new families get a first in-home session scheduled within 5-7 days, faster if your schedule is flexible on time of day - our earliest and latest slots each week tend to open up first. Ongoing sessions are typically booked as a standing weekly or twice-weekly time slot, so your child gets a consistent routine rather than a different day each week.
If you don't have a recent OT evaluation on file, we'll ask about that first - in-home sessions work best when we're building on a clear set of goals rather than starting from scratch in your living room.
Every visit is purposefully designed to build skills in the exact environment where your child needs them most.
Built around your child's current goals — this isn't unstructured play time, even though it often looks like it to your child.
Practicing buttons at the actual closet, balance on the actual stairs, or mealtime skills at your actual table — skills transfer better when they're practiced where your child will use them.
Your therapist shows you what was worked on and gives you one or two simple things to reinforce between sessions — not a homework packet, just a couple of concrete habits.
So progress is tracked over time and we can adjust frequency or focus as your child grows, rather than running the same session plan indefinitely.
We regularly do in-home sessions in Corona del Mar, Eastbluff, Newport Heights, Dover Shores, the Balboa Peninsula and Balboa Island, and Newport Coast. Homes near the peninsula sometimes need a bit more flexibility around parking - let us know and we'll plan around it.
We also come out to Eastside Costa Mesa, Mesa Verde, College Park, and the South Coast Metro area near South Coast Plaza. Most Costa Mesa homes fall within our standard no-travel-fee zone.
Yes, or a recent one from another provider that we can review. Sessions are built around specific goals, and an evaluation is what gives us those goals - without one, we're guessing instead of treating.
Most homes in Newport Beach and Costa Mesa are within our standard service area with no added fee. A small number of addresses further out (parts of Newport Coast, north Costa Mesa) may have a modest travel add-on, which we'll quote before you book - never as a surprise on your invoice.
Nothing special. Your therapist brings the tools and materials needed for that session's goals. It helps to have the space your child usually struggles in accessible - the bathroom, the kitchen table, the stairs - but no prep or cleanup is required on your end.
Yes, most families have other kids, pets, or a work-from-home parent around, and that's fine. If a sibling is genuinely distracting for a particular goal, your therapist will ask for a bit of separation for that portion of the session, but otherwise a normal household is exactly the environment we want to work in.
Most kids start at once or twice a week. Your therapist will recommend a frequency after the first session or two and revisit it every several weeks - the goal is to move you toward less frequent sessions as your child progresses, not to keep a standing appointment indefinitely.
Call to check availability this week, or book online - most families get a first visit within 5-7 days.
